It has been reported to the newsroom that key player Brendon McGrath suffered a serious shoulder injury during an exhibition game with Uinta yesterday. He received the injury after he was charged and checked in the back by a Uinta player. He went to the hospital and word is that he may have broken his shoulder. It is said he will be out for the season.
Other people were hurt as well in what can only be described as a series of illegal checks by Uinta. If this was the old west, these checks would be described as yellow-bellied cheap shots, according to one parent. There is a rumor that Alta may not play Vernal again as long as our current coach is coaching.
We're cheering for you Brendon - please get well soon. (Photo from Archives - Alta Ice Hawks vs. Murray Spartans, December 4, 2010).
